New ideas?

I have a whole list of things I would love to do with our homeschool group- mainly because it isn't fun for Bryce and Ashlee to always just do these things by themselves. And now that I know most of you- I think it would be fun to plan some of these ideas.

1) Science fair- I know we are coming to the endof the year quickly- but I think if we have 4-6 weeks to complete our projects we can still have this fair by mid May? I think it would be a fun end of the school year project?

2) I would like to plan a track and field day or Olympics day? Either in May or even in Septemeber as a way to get back into school etc? Although April is nutrition month?

3) Jaenette and I had talked about maybe having a Bible Bee (we would have to call it something different as this is what K-love is doing) I think this would be a fun begining or end of year idea?

4) I really like Konos curriculum and would love if some others would want to have a once a week coop? Maybe Fridays one hour before the park day? If you are not familiar with KONOS I can bring you the book and let you look over my ideas.

5) Last but not least: I had Ashlee in a Daisy girl scout group- but there wasonly 1 other girl- not much of a group- wellthe other girl dropped out- so I wouldlove to start a homeschool Daisy group- Daisy's is for kinder and first- so that is what I would focus on there is Brownies and Girl Scouts- but for the older girls- Ashlee is only 5-I would be the leader and we would meet 2 times a month for one hour- I have all of the patches planned out- I just need other girls to say yes!! I can tell you more if you are interested.
Along these lines I thought we could get the dad's involved with the boys and maybe plan a camping trip or something?

Thanks for listening

Valentine's Day Party

Here are some really fun pictures of the Valentine's day party!

One thing I have come across is the Mailbox. I know I shared this with some of you at one of the park days. you can pick up a copy at the Learning Zone. I think it goes up to 6th grade. But it has really fun ideas for the whole month. It ranges from activities, crafts, reading and writing, math and many more areas are covered. for example, in my February copy for 1st-3rd it has activities for Chinese New Year, Valentine's day, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Fairytales, President's Day, and Chocolate. As I was preparing my February calendar I decided to incorporate what we were learning each week into my family Fun nights, so we are going to have a Chinese New Year Family Fun night in a few weeks to round out that study- we will make homemade chinese food with homemade fortune cookies. A craft will be to make chinese lanterns, we will also make lion masks and dance around. This friday we are going to have a chocolate family Fun Night. This will entail eating chocolate covered strawberries! It will also kind of incorporate our Valentine stuff- like making hearts and writing nice things to one another, and making a heart shaped wreath. Our final Family Fun night will incorporate the rodeo- we will be talking about cowboys at the end of the month. We are going to have a bike rodeo, dress in boots and hats and maybe even learn a two step dance? Who Knows!!

Kids

Here is where we can add things we do to encourage our kids. This can be day to day, getting school work done or even how to keep them encouraged to do chores or be nice to their siblings.

Crafts

I think this is my favorite part. You can add anything fun you are doing or plan to do.
